快 乐工 厂
Pleasure Factory is a 86 min local production shot in the red-light district of Geylang.
I went into the cinema with the hopes that it wouldn't be as bad as i was warned, and i was pleasantly surprised that it actually wasn't! Although some parts were kinda draggy and i became a tad restless, i found the show to be quite thought-provoking.
It's a film with 3 different storylines.
A young army boy losing his virginity (i wanted to include the words 'for the first time' but i realised how ironic it would be).
A jaded prostitute who just wanted someone to cuddle with.
A young girl who's mom sits there smoking while she's being forced to blow a fat old man who may/may not be her father.
The silliness of the "spring chicken" while trying to figure out how to use a condom made me smile, the vulnerability of the prostitute who sought solace in the guy who sold songs made me go awww and the young girl ending up in the foreigner's bed with the guy walking around the house in his CK briefs looking all emo made me go "WHAT? So did they have sex or not?" because the show abruptly ended at that point.
My friend, KW, commented that the idea of beauty in the show was kinda warped. The two girls who were called 漂亮 (beautiful) weren't very. In fact the prostitute who slept with the army guy sounded SO much like ru hua that KW and i just couldn't stop giggling whenever she spoke! It came to a point where he kept saying "你真的很漂亮" that i just involuntarily let out a "Urgh" sound which made the middle aged couple beside me snigger.
Oh well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess. But what a bad eye.
Anyway, it's not too bad a show la, if you can sit through 3 hours of LOTR, you probably can sit through 86 mins of this. But i'm sorry to say that it's R21, so kids, just stay home and surf porn. It's free!

It makes me cringe yet go awww at the same time.

Brian Loube's Gallery of 3D Photography
I was jumping around photography sites when i stumbled onto this site.
It's quite cool cuz unlike conventional galleries, this one's in 3D.
As it's said in the site,
"This site can be viewed with any standard red/blue 3D glasses.
(red lens - left eye blue lens - right eye)"
Unfortch, i don't own a pair of those, not even the cheap flimsy paper kind, so i can't view the images popping out of the screen, but it's cool nonetheless.
Here are some images from the site.

There are more images on the site, but you get the idea.
Another cool site (the main one where i link other cool sites from actually) is Photojojo, where i get all my cool photo ideas from.
Remember the panography photo of the view outside my window? Or the idea to take photos with an empty photo frame?
All from that site, plus much much more! Who knows, you might find something that works for you there!
I'm so doing free advertising again.

calling all Toyota drivers
I'm situated at 600 Sin Ming Ave, at the Toyota Service Centre, selling the extended warranty package for Toyota cars, Toyota Shield.
To qualify for this scheme, your car must be less than 33 months old (case by case basis, but usually not applicable after the original 3 years warranty is over) or have a mileage of less than 60,000km.
So far, sales has been ok, but it could be better obviously.
Anyone driving a Toyota, or know people who drives a Toyota, and is interested to know more about this extended warranty can drop me a tag on the tagboard, or leave a comment or something.
Spread the word around ok?

i wan me some xtina!

I got this email one day and i've decided to enter it.
I've already typed some lameass thing out and sent it over already. Don't really expect to win anything, but no harm just entering for fun! If anyone enters it and win, pick me to be your date hor!
I shall put up what i sent in after tomorrow, when the competition closes. I don't want anyone ripping off my idea man!
Haha! I love joining such random competitions!
Edit:
"This platinum blonde bombshell needs no Intro. Christina Makes Me Wanna Pray for mercy when she sings. Back In The Day of old school power singers, there Ain’t No Other Man, or woman, that can belt out a song like she can.
I don't Understand how anyone would want her to Slow Down Baby because she's such a beautiful bright spark. Oh Mother must be making a big F.U.S.S. because she must be thinking that they're "On Our Way to a better life and it wouldn’t have been possible Without You."
She's Still Dirrty, but she's Here To Stay. She's so sweet to say "Thank You" to her fans for standing by her during her tough times. Enter The Circus, Welcome the paparazzi, we're not afraid!
I'm so glad that she found her Candyman in Jordan Bratman and I hope he doesn’t turn out to be a Nasty Naughty Boy and make her think, "I Got Trouble!" She deserves to be loved and not Hurt.
Lord have Mercy On Me for I'll do anything to be able to catch her in concert live! Save Me From Myself for I am The Right Man to win her concert tickets!"
And that's what i sent in! It's all the song titles of her newest album, strung into a commentary.
Stop laughing ok! I know it's lame, but it's kinda sweet don't cha think?

ah ah ah~ ah!
This is my favourite part of the movie! The Snow White fighting scene!
I super love this character, so bitchy and pissed off! And she's voiced by the inimitable Amy Poehler!
She's one of the funniest hosts of Saturday Night Live (some American variety prog tt does spoofs and parodies on current issues) and she appeared in the movie "Blades of Glory" as the evil incestous sister!
Ok i know i know i have been neglecting my blogging duties yet again, but don't blame me cos i haven received all the photos!

this is furonda

The answer is simple.
Join America's Next Top Model, where women, who're considered ugly by society's standards, are oooh-ed and ahhh-ed at and praised for their bug-eyes, bulbous noses, sausage lips and square jaws.
That's why i love this show! The ugly have hope!
Went to this super cool ANTM website recommended by Alvin. In there's all the photos of all the contestants from all 8 cycles of the show. And when i say photos, i don't mean only those from the photoshoots in the show, but even photoshoots from after the contestants get the boot from the show and land in the real world of modelling.
As i was browsing the more familiar names from the show, Furonda from cycle 6's portfolio really caught my attention.
She's this totally horrible looking reject of an insect that somehow not only made it into the show, but stayed quite long and actually improved tremendously.
She's still ugly, but well, she takes a fierce photo.
I got a little obsessed with her to the point where i was sending Alvin photos of her on msn.
Here's an exerpt of what we were talking about.
My nick had the [nausea] in it because i just came from from a night swim and for some reason felt like vomitting.
Apparently Alvin found the conversation hilarious because he pasted it on his blog straight off the msn chat! After reading it, i got so tickled that i immediately told him that i would too.
I even tried sharing a "Furonda" background with him. He didn't accept it at first, but after much coaxing he finally came around.
Ok maybe i'm too obsessed with her.
Edit: WATCH THIS CLIP! O.M.G.!

NC16 - the swimming instructor
I wouldn't have caught this play last Thursday if not for the free tickets that i got from a friend's friend's friend (don't ask, too confusing), who was in the production crew.
Apparently, some sponsors who were supposed to turn up cancelled last minute and they had many free tickets to give away. I think most of the people were there FOC.
Cheapskates. Like me.
Thank God for friends who think of me in times of er... freebies?
Anyway, i've captured the play's essence in the following drawing. I was working on it the entire morning, in the midsts of answering calls, using PAINT!
-sweat-
Too used to the ease of Photoshop.
Basically, it's a story about a go-getting advertising executive (Dave) and a vivacious rich girl (Jen), meeting in a pool one day and falling for the same guy, a down-to-earth swimming instructor (Guan).
Sidetracking abit, everytime someone said "Guan", i would feel like shouting out "GUANTANAMERA!"
Back to the topic, before anyone thinks, "Eeeyer, gay play, yucks gross ew", it's actually so much more than that! The play was an emotional rollercoaster (all three of the actors had emo scenes. Jen had 2, of which she actually cried in one! PRO!) and themes like loss, death, love, disintegration of the family unit, and of cos lust were present.
When the play first began, i felt that Isabella Chiam, who played Jen, had an easy role because all she had to do was some over-the-top bimbo/sex-crazed acting. However, as the play progressed, she blow me away with her subtler scenes and when she was talking about how screwed up her family was, she actually had tears in her eyes! I was like WHOA!
Lim Wee Hong, who played Guan, was seriously ah beng to the max. Throughout the play, i felt like slapping him cos his accent was so typically kopitiam!
Jeremy Lee, or Dave, had the much tougher role of being the emotionally scarred individual who tries not to fall for Guan, although he was still kinda stiff in his acting.
But for those who're not interested in the depth of the play, just go watch it for the FLESH la!
picture grabbed from this site.
Bods.bodynits was one of the sponsors and the 3 of them were wearing nothing but skimpy trunks, bikinis and boardshorts from the brand!
For the girls (and some guys), Guan and Dave had on more tanning oil than clothing! And Dave even exposed his butt in a shower scene! -RAWR-
For the guys (and some girls), Jen was a naughty little minx, thrusting her boobs and butt in the faces of the audience, all while flipping her hair and looking nonchalant about it! And it didn't hurt one bit that she looked like Felicia Chin with a dash of ang mohness in her features. HAWT!
The play's running till 18th, so if you have the time, go catch it!

no blood test!
I went for the NUS medical checkup today with Yeng Hian and friend, Justin.
It was, to my amazement, FUN!
We did the eyesight test, took our height (i have a new height, 171cm!) and weight and blood pressure, urine test and x-ray. Of cos, not forgetting the old zha bor doctor pressing the tummy and groin area.
Along the way i saw many familiar faces, but i didn't talk to any of them because i don't know them per se.
Oh, the nurse taking our blood pressure turned out to be Yeng Hian's neighbour staying in the same block. The conversation they had was quite hilarious.
Nurse: "Oh, you're staying in the same block as me!"
YH: "Is it? That's interesting."
Nurse: "Oh let me look at which floor you are staying in, is it above me or below me. Oh, it's below me. Ok ok, i thought i have to scold you because someone keep pouring water into my balcony. But nevermind, you're below me so can't be you la."
YH: -stun-
The nurse had to take his blood pressure twice because there was some weird sound. I suspect she just wanted to fondle his arms one more time la.
Then before that Justin's urine had too much glucose.
So i was joking that they each had one fault already, so later my turn. Maybe after the x-ray they found my ribs cracked or something.
After the whole thing, i was accosted by 3 different groups of camp facilitators promoting their individual camps. I ended up talking cock with one girl for about 30 - 40 mins. Boon Kian even joined in after he was done.
I was saying that even before i joined the school i made enemies already. I kept making fun of the girl's name. I couldn't help myself. Her name was Jitsy.
Ditzy. Dipsy. Gypsy.
Argh ok i should stop.
There's no more air-con in the office already! Time to zhao!
ps, Feather Keeper is fun! I'm at "F" now.

miniclips
In addition to Sling and Frost Bite (which i've completed!), i've also found new games like Snow Line (also completed) and Papa Louie!
Damn fun!
Anyone got any other online games to recommend?
Edit: I've found another new game! Clash N Slash. Don't let the barbaric name turn you off, it's actually a damn fun spaceship shooting game with upgrades and different weapons! FUN!
Yesterday i wanted to share a conversation i had with this guy who knew NOTHING, but then my com restarted and i got pissed off.
But seriously it's too hilarious not to put it up.
"How much does this model cost?"
"Oh, it's $1200* without GST."
"Then with GST, will be more or not?"

my chinese is terrible enough...
... and yet i have to handle old parents who can only speak chinese, but understands terms like "logistic" and "fax".
That's not the worse thing.
I have to handle the ching chong students from freaking CHINA!
so apt this picture since my company is from Taiwan.
I must make it clear that i'm in no way prejudiced against China people, it's just that my Chinese capabilities are seriously limited. If you know me, you'll know.
The very first time i encountered a China student, i had so much trouble just translating the sentence, "You have to go to the website and follow the instructions".
In the end, i told her, "Ni yao qu wang lu na bian geng zhe instructions."
She replied with a, "Er... Wo bu zhi dao ni zhai shuo shen me", in that cheena China slang.
URGH!
I also want to tell her that i cannot understand her!
Eh, don't get me wrong, i'm not ashamed of my Chinese heritage. It's been a month since i ORDed and until now, i was adamnant on leaving my hair black and undyed, as a weak attempt against conformity.
That's until now.
I'm having mixed feelings about this Supercuts voucher that i've received via Singtel for my birthday.
It has a 40% off on ALL CHEMICAL SERVICES, which basically only means dye hair to me la. Why would i wanna rebond or perm?
So should i rejoice and go ahead to utilise the voucher (i really want blonde streaks, brown is so bleurgh), or grit my teeth and stand firm to my resolution of not treating my hair as a canvas and not conform to the image of an FASS student?
Speaking of that, i've still not brought up the determination (and courage) to pierce my ears. I need someone to drag me there!
Ya anyway, ADVISE ME PLEASE!
And anyone wanna shamelessly offer themselves up as my "guest" to bring to the 1 for 1 haircut thing?
Interested applicants pls apply straight to me before the end of the week thanks!
I wanna cut hair before my party!
On a totally irrelevant note, i've been pretty much bored in the office and i'm hooked on miniclip.com!
Particularly Frost Bite and Sling.
Seriously they're great time fillers for when there are no calls, and sometimes i even continue playing when i'm on the phone, since the questions are so generic that i can just answer without thinking.
So all those bored in the office or anywhere else, go play to your hearts content!

colour is overrated
I'm suffering from blogger's block, that's why it's been quiet for awhile.
Oh don't be mistaken that i've bounced back from it. I think i might just retreat for awhile.
People asking me to blog's nice, but a little stressful.
For the past few days, i've been going out with different girls one-on-one.
Caught Just Follow Law with Huishan on Tuesday. And she brought be on my virgin experience at Ben & Jerry's.
If you like the colour, or lack thereof, of the picture, here's a cool site for you to explore.
www.picnik.com
It doesn't do the frames and all, that i did it on photoshop, but you can upload any picture on the website and edit the colour, contrast, size, rotation, and there's even a creative tool with special effects where you can transform your pictures from common to, i quote huishan, "shi mei de lor".
Go explore la, don't need to download or install anything. Perfect for the photoshop idiot in you.
Other than her, i've gone out with mabs and sc for dinner and some shopping at bugis and vivo respectively. Tsk, i know i'm kinda scandalous but it's strictly platonic! Don't speculate!
Being single is fun, but it can get tiring from all the friend-hopping i'm doing, but i wouldn't trade my friends for the world!
Ok maybe i would. It's the world leh...
