back into the wardrobe again

I'm talking about The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian!

Don't you just love the premise of stepping into a cupboard and being transported into a world of magic and fantasy? No wonder some people just refuse to come out of the closet. *ahem* I mean wardrobe.

I remember first reading the book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe back in Primary school (yes i was the nerd who wins the "most book read" award). Who would have known that it would spawn such a successful and magical movie, and now it's on to the second sequel!

Go to the official website for more information and downloads!

This show's definitely on my "must watch" list! It's like reliving my childhood all over again, but instead of letting my imagination run wild with the words on a page, it's being revived into the movie screen!

I LOVE ASLAN!

of boxes of k, real life enchanted princesses and just 21 in years

The supposedly OG outing yielded not so good an attendance, but we had fun anyway!

Dragged myself out of bed to meet huimin and bacca for some klunch. We were all as late as each other so it was all good. I even alighted at the wrong stop!

Oh, i filmed an incriminating video of us singing, dancing and being generally retarded to Rihanna's Umbrella ella ella eh eh eh. I was contemplating on uploading it on youtube but i really was the most retarded of them all, so maybe another time then!

Then it was off to get our selves enchanted! Harrison, evon and justin joined us and we trooped into the cinema. Huimin kept kping saying "我是不看这重戏的 lor"...

...i was sitting beside her and she laughed damn loud everytime there was something to laugh about.

Anyway, no pictures for this segment so i shall put up some clips of the movie. The clips are of them singing. If you've not caught the show, please do! Ignore the next 3 boxes then.

This show is so much more worth watching than a certain golden direction pointer thing.

The lead actress, Amy Adams, is apparently quite old. Actually, i could make out eyebags under the foundation. I bet they positively caked it on her.

After the movie, harri and huimin left and the remaining 4 of us nuahed around (i bought socks!), had dinner at Sakura (Far East one, not the one at Safra) and went over to Paragon to find ubin-cycling-gang, clara, tor yuan and ambrose for dessert.

Let the mini celebration for justin start!

Went to Bakerzin and bacca and evon secretly ordered a slice of cheesecake with a candle while justin and i were in the queue. We had to wait really long for a seven seater but in the end we took a 4 seater and added seats.

Played around with macro and landscape mode with my more-than-willing models.

The service was really quite terrible. They didn't lay the cutleries when the slice came, only providing one fork among the 7 of us. Not like we didn't order anything else.

That and other things made me quite unhappy and i put on my indignant face and went to the counter, asking icily, "Excuse me, can we have some cutlertries please?"

I walked back and realisation hit me. I said CUTLERTRIES. What the heck is cutlertries?!?! I'm like asking for toiletries!

Well, they came anyway, but i had to distribute them myself cos the waiter just plonked a pile of serviettes and forks in front of me. Freak shit la. Live and let live.

After clara bit the strawberry into half, she told justin that he had to do a forfeit because it was his birthday. She then proceeded to mix all the melted ice creams into a glass and plonked the half-strawberry into it. I have no idea how she can bite till it looks so gross. Got tendrils somemore.

After dessert we went out of Paragon and literally sat at the steps.

But we whored. Camwhored.

Ah, it was a fun night.

my eyebags trebled after exams

Wednesday:
Zouk with the Chachas was fun! Drank warm vodka+sprite in hall and some of us got drunk even before reaching Zouk! Even more fun when i met Clara and Rachel and the whole of Temasek Hall. Danced with a girl so drunk that her voice was like she was living in a world where humans breathe helium.

Thursday:
Stayed over ad played with Daren's Nintendo Wii in NTU Hall 16. If tennis and bowling were so easy in real life, i'd have played it everyday!

In the night i met up with KW, ZC and his kiddy friends for The Golden Compass. The show was ridiculous. Someone said it was a live version of Pokemon and i tend to agree. That being said, the ending was terrible. It was all "Oh for the next sequels we'll be doing this, this and that. Come watch!"

After that ZC brought me and KW to a karaoke pub. I got claps for singing A*mei's 记得.

Friday:
I concussed and went to school for the first The West Wing meeting where i found out i was playing a lowly Monk who had no lines oh dear god.

Met Shu for dinner and the gala premier (bacca played me out). Saw Zoe Tay and fam, Edmund Chen and fam, Suzanne Jung, Pan 00 and fam and whoever la. Oh Glenn Ong played host. Didn't bother taking photos despite having a 6 megapix cam tucked securely in my bag. I didn't want to upset those people frantically whipping out their sad lil camera phones.

Bacca and Clara came alooking for me but Clara left to settle some matters of the heart and left bacca with me to wait for her. In the end she took a lifetime and i took NR2 home.

Saturday:
Slept till kingdom come and went out for dinner with fam plus some relatives.

DROVE HOME from Selegie tau huay. My mom kept saying she was very scared and my brothers kept saying they didn't dare sleep.

Sunday:
Off to Malacca we went. Once we crossed the causeway, i took over the wheel. 135km/h was the fastest i hit, averaging 110km/h.

My mom still says she's very scared and now she says she cannot sleep. Instead, she sat right smack in the middle of the rearview mirror, effectively blocking half of it. Got yelled at by my dad once i don't remember what.

They still won't let me drive out myself.

快 乐工 厂

Pleasure Factory is a 86 min local production shot in the red-light district of Geylang.

I went into the cinema with the hopes that it wouldn't be as bad as i was warned, and i was pleasantly surprised that it actually wasn't! Although some parts were kinda draggy and i became a tad restless, i found the show to be quite thought-provoking.

It's a film with 3 different storylines.

A young army boy losing his virginity (i wanted to include the words 'for the first time' but i realised how ironic it would be).

A jaded prostitute who just wanted someone to cuddle with.

A young girl who's mom sits there smoking while she's being forced to blow a fat old man who may/may not be her father.

The silliness of the "spring chicken" while trying to figure out how to use a condom made me smile, the vulnerability of the prostitute who sought solace in the guy who sold songs made me go awww and the young girl ending up in the foreigner's bed with the guy walking around the house in his CK briefs looking all emo made me go "WHAT? So did they have sex or not?" because the show abruptly ended at that point.

My friend, KW, commented that the idea of beauty in the show was kinda warped. The two girls who were called 漂亮 (beautiful) weren't very. In fact the prostitute who slept with the army guy sounded SO much like ru hua that KW and i just couldn't stop giggling whenever she spoke! It came to a point where he kept saying "你真的很漂亮" that i just involuntarily let out a "Urgh" sound which made the middle aged couple beside me snigger.

Oh well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess. But what a bad eye.

Anyway, it's not too bad a show la, if you can sit through 3 hours of LOTR, you probably can sit through 86 mins of this. But i'm sorry to say that it's R21, so kids, just stay home and surf porn. It's free!

errands day

Are you sick of seeing the same entry everytime you come here?

Me too.

But i've not have time to do any photo editing so this entry's just gonna be text text and more text.

I had a job interview at Borneo Motors all the way at Redhill today at 9.40am. I was applying for the position of Customer Service Assistant, selling their extended warranty package.

It was crazy cos i had to wake up at 7am and that's the earliest i've woken up for the past 2 weeks. What's even more crazy was that i actually slept at 4.30am!

What's wrong with me!

Part of the reason why i slept so late was that i caught a movie at GV Grand yesterday.

It wasn't that fantastic seriously. Between the fake hair on Sue (Jessica Alba - who's damn hot) and the CGI-ness of the Silver Surfer, the show kinda tanked for me. There wasn't even a spectacular show of powers, just some lameass combine power shizz. I don't wanna reveal too much here, but seriously, they think Captain Planet ar?

Apparently there's someone acting as the Silver Surfer. It's not purely CGI. I can't say the same for Olinda thou.

Ok, that was a super HUGE digression. Back to the interview.

While i was on the train towards Redhill, it started pouring donkeys and ogres! I had no choice but to cab down to the location, even thou it was seriously walking distance from the station.

Apparently there's a $2 surcharge from 7 - 9.30am and it was only 9.15am then. But the thing was, the driver waived it off! He charged me only $2.60. Don't ask me why, cos i saw the meter displaying $4.50.

So, i went up to the interview place and lo and behold, i saw 2 other temp-looking guys filling in forms. And they were all decked out in office wear - leather shoes, pants and long sleeved shirts! It was a good thing i decided to go in pants and long sleeves too, although i was wearing my Converse sneakers.

I actually thought i would be the only one being interviewed!

Silly me.

I peeked at the list and there were close to 10 names on it! Stressed!

Anyway, the interview went smoothly, with some minor bumps when i told him i actually knew nothing about cars. But i more than made up for it in the little test that the interviewer threw at me.

I became suspicious of his intentions when he motioned me to read the brochure on the product, so i read it extra carefully. When i looked up from it, he smiled at me and threw me the big one.

He told me to pretend that he's the customer and try to sell him the product.

I was abit stunned at first, but i regained my posture, put on my best telemarketer voice and pili pala bing bong biang-ed in my powerpacked English.

He even tested me with the kaobei customer persona by saying, "Oh, i tot your cars are very durable one, why do i even need to purchase this extended warranty? Isn't it like throwing money into the drain?"

I was like thinking, "is that the best you can muster?"

I immediately shot back a rhetorical question.

"You also don't want anything to happen to you, but why do you buy insurance? It's the same principle, it's just to safeguard. I'm not saying that our cars are not durable, it's just a security net for you because you never know with so many electronic parts in the car, if something might happen right?"

PHWOAR~!

I totally rocked the interview la!

After the interview, i started on my tour of Singapore.

First i cabbed down to ICA Building at Lavender to replace my lost IC (fucking $100 T.T), then i went to the Oakley Service Center at Tanjong Pagar to change my earpads (FOC), after which i went all the way back to Yishun to replace my SAFRA card (FOC with police report).

I literally huan2 dao3 jui1 jui1 jui1-ed.

So boys and girls, losing your wallet with all your documentations inside is a mightily troublesome thing to do. So remember to always check if your wallet is still on you. If possible, refrain from bringing out unnecessary cards and such if you plan to get DRUNK!

I realised my entry's very longwinded and wordy. Sorry for that!

EDIT: I got the job! =)))

windows live messenger

Met with ZC, gabs and yushan. It felt like a weird combi because i was crashing in on their "family" outing.

We walked around alot looking for a present for yushan, ate alot of carbo and spent alot of money.

The crux of the outing was whether to go watch a movie or to go sing Kbox. Finally, it was decided by the decisive zc that we should watch a horror movie.

And since it's his actual birthday today, we had no choice but to accept our fate.

What can i say about the show?

Oh how about, yushan fell asleep, and so did zc himself?

The show, directed by the Pang brothers, was a typical Asian horror flick with Hollywoodism injected into it.

It's actually quite hard for me to remember the details now. That's how unmemorable the show was. Apparently it's about how children can see things that adults cannot.

The only part that vaguely made an impression on me was when the mother realised that the little boy was staring at some empty corner, and she asked him what was there.

The little boy merely pointed at the empty corner.

Then the mother realised that the little boy could see things that she couldn't and tried to ask him where they were.

The little boy continued to point at the same spot.

The mother then asked, "What do they look like?"

The little boy brought his hands up to his eyes...

And made a face.

That was damn freaky. Other than that, the show was rather predictable and lame.

I was joking that i didn't understand why the movie was titled "The Messengers".

Liddat nearly every horror movie can be called that. Nearly all ghosts come back to haunt the place because they have some sort of message they need to tell some unsuspecting girl who will then either find the remains of the ghost/find out how they really died/find the person who killed them.

So cliche.

I mean, if the show was about maybe msn or something then the title would be self explanatory.

Girl staring at the computer screen: "OMG, why's HE appearing online? He's supposed to be DEAD!"

Whoa, that's scary.

Listening

I don't want you to think of me as an eavesdropper so I'll just say that I'm listening to music instead of my neighbour's maid flirting with my other neighbour's driver.

Reading

I like it when people think of me as an intellectual so I will list a bunch of intellectual-sounding books here, even those I don't plan to read.

Viewing

Since I can't list my porn collection here, I'll just leave it this way until I can force myself to watch non-pornographic stuff, which may or may not happen.
