i wan me some xtina!

I got this email one day and i've decided to enter it.

I've already typed some lameass thing out and sent it over already. Don't really expect to win anything, but no harm just entering for fun! If anyone enters it and win, pick me to be your date hor!

I shall put up what i sent in after tomorrow, when the competition closes. I don't want anyone ripping off my idea man!

Haha! I love joining such random competitions!

Edit:

"This platinum blonde bombshell needs no Intro. Christina Makes Me Wanna Pray for mercy when she sings. Back In The Day of old school power singers, there Ain’t No Other Man, or woman, that can belt out a song like she can.

I don't Understand how anyone would want her to Slow Down Baby because she's such a beautiful bright spark. Oh Mother must be making a big F.U.S.S. because she must be thinking that they're "On Our Way to a better life and it wouldn’t have been possible Without You."

She's Still Dirrty, but she's Here To Stay. She's so sweet to say "Thank You" to her fans for standing by her during her tough times. Enter The Circus, Welcome the paparazzi, we're not afraid!

I'm so glad that she found her Candyman in Jordan Bratman and I hope he doesn’t turn out to be a Nasty Naughty Boy and make her think, "I Got Trouble!" She deserves to be loved and not Hurt.

Lord have Mercy On Me for I'll do anything to be able to catch her in concert live! Save Me From Myself for I am The Right Man to win her concert tickets!"

And that's what i sent in! It's all the song titles of her newest album, strung into a commentary.

Stop laughing ok! I know it's lame, but it's kinda sweet don't cha think?

are you kidding me?

Olinda looks so CGI here that she can totally fit into Final Fantasy and be one of the characters.

Special moves: throwing clothes that are too big to wear at the monsters or slimming down at a rapid pace to avoid bullets.

--------------------------

For those not in the know, i've joined a blogging competition and came in FIRST in terms of judges scoring. However, that's only 50% of the component to win. The other 50% is based on public voting.

THAT'S YOU!

I've came to know of a certain blogger who actually went out to distribute FLYERS promoting himself and his blog. Although it's a really great way to up his votes, it's really sneaky.

Now his vote count's really high and it compensates for his mediocre score by the judges.

The organisers of this competition can't do anything about it because technically, he's not cheating.

Being the top of the judges' pick is useless if i can't get enough votes to win, and it'll be very sad if i lose out because of my votes, so please vote for me (B7) if you've not done so.

If you've already voted, i'll appreciate it if you help me spread the word and get your friends to vote too. And in turn get them to spread the word.

The competition entry's just below this one, so scroll down to view it, and the voting form is there too.

If you're worried about revealing personal info there, not to worry, you'll definitely not get spammed because the website's an official one backed by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS).

In actual fact, only the IC number has to be accurate (to prevent multiple votes). The email, name and contact number can be fake, but please fake something that makes sense. Don't give your name as Mr Potatohead or something. The vote may be voided.

Scroll down to VOTE FOR B7!

i'm exhausted from constantly rallying

Now for the actual entry:

Question: What would most ORD personnel be doing before entering University (assuming they can get in)?

Answer: They find jobs!

I've conformed to the stereotype and am currently very frazzled with the number of stupid and rude Singaporeans that call in on a daily basis.

Some background infomation, i'm currently a part-time telemarketing exec, handling the phone enquiries of different roadshows. Sometimes, i also get general enquiry calls which are none of my concern but yet, i try my best to answer.

Before working here, i never knew how stupid some Singaporeans can be!

Just imagine that i could have an actual conversation like this!

CLASSIC!

I've always thought that majority of the locals are educated, if not knowledgeable enough so as not to appear utterly spastic.

OBVIOUSLY NOT.

Oh! I have to share another hilarious call that i received! It actually made my department laugh!

---------------

"Er... Hello, where can i order my notebook?"

"You can go to the website to download the order form."

"That's the problem, i don't have internet connection."

(after discussion with my colleagues and much thinking)

"Do you have any friends?"

"HUH?"

"I mean, do you have any friends with internet connection?"

--------------

My colleagues laughed!

Oh the other hand, a bad aspect of being a telemarketer is that i have to handle the ching chong students from CHINA!

I must make it clear that i'm in no way prejudiced against China people, it's just that my Chinese capabilities are seriously limited. If you know me, you'll know.

I think it's a JC thing. Someone once told me that poly students generally speak better Mandarin than JC students. Maybe it's the culture la.

The very first time i encountered a China student, i had so much trouble just translating the sentence, "You have to go to the website and follow the instructions".

In the end, i told her, "Ni yao qu wang lu na bian geng zhe instructions."

She replied with a, "Er... Wo bu zhi dao ni zhai shuo shen me", in that cheena China slang.

URGH!

I also want to tell her that i cannot understand her!

However, i'd gladly talk to 20 China students than to some Singaporeans who speak perfectly good English. Some people reaaaally make me wanna clench my fists and grit my teeth, and yet, i have to speak to them nicely and try to get them to listen.

Here's one typical scenario.

These kind of customers are the really longwinded kind. They can paint a whole portrait in technicolours when they just want to simply find out the status of their order.

What's worse is if they use the goddamn irritated and impatient tone with me, as if i can control when they get their goods.

I'M JUST THE FREAKING TEMP!

But it's ok, i can get my own kicks out of this.

I simply love stressing on the "10 to 15 working days" part! I get a cheap thrill listening to the impatient customers let out a loud GASP!

MUAHAHAHAHA! CAN YOU FEEL THE SENSE OF EMPOWERMENT?

There are also customers who are just plain rude and unreasonable!

A few days ago, i was just ranting about this retarded bitch of a woman who called me up demanding i answer her question.

---------------

Retarded bitch: "How much does it cost to service my computer?"

note she didn't even say hello.

Victim: "This is the sales department, so i wouldn't know the cost of fixing a technical issue, you'll have to refer to the service centre for the price. Why not you take down the number?"

Retarded bitch: "Why can't you just transfer me directly?"

Victim: "I will, but in case you can't get through, you can call that number."

Retarded bitch: "So i won't be able to get through right?"

Victim: "I wouldn't know, it depends on the call traffic at the service centre."

Retarded bitch: "Why can't you just tell me? There must be a standard charge to fixing a laptop right?"

Victim: "That i wouldn't know, because it is totally different departments!"

by this time i was slightly irritated and totally wanted to hang up on her already.

Retarded bitch: "Then it must be a very lousy company you're running or you must be very dumb."

---------------

WHAT. THE. FREAK!!!

Sometimes i wonder if i have done them wrong in my past life!

Now i can understand why some people flip out and go on a killing spree.

See the similarities? He must have been doing telemarketing la!

disclaimer: this entry is entirely fictional and all similarities to anyone or any events are merely coincidence. there is no malice involved in the mention of the Virginia Tech killings. in fact, i'm deeply saddened by the fact that an act of such obscene violence could even happen. my well-wishes and deepest condolences goes out to the victims and their family members.

i tried to contain my excitement...

...but i failed.

How to contain when Rozz said that my blog was (i quote) "DAMN FUGGIN good", "frivolously hilarious" and that she "dig(s) that"?!?!

AHHHHHHH! -faints with glee-

You can see the judges' scores and comments here:

+ Charles Ng the Skin Clinic Entrepreneur

+ Alan Leong the superpro Graphics Designer

+ Angelique the Best Teen Weblog Winner (twice!)

+ DJ Rosalyn the Power98 Radio DJ and Mac's FANtastic ad girl

+ Alvin Lim the Webmaster who's leaving youth.sg for greener pastures!

Go see Angelique and Rozz's scoring criteria. Hilarious and ruthless respectively!

SINCE ALL FIVE JUDGES HAVE REVEALED THE SCORES, HERE'S THE AVERAGE:

WOOTS!

But i have to stress that the scores are only 50%. The outcome's still very grey so rally on!

Continue to vote for B7 here, or scroll down 2 entries to view the competition piece. You can vote from there as well!

Top 11 + 9

Yea, i'm in the Top 20 for round 6 of the popularity blogging contest.

I don't really expect to win anything, but vote if your my friend you like my super-indulgent entry.

Anyway, the voting form can be found HERE.

And if you wish to scout out the rest of the competitors, something which i have not done myself, go HERE.

I've also attached the voting form to the end of my competition entry, which is the one where i roleplayed as a whore asking people to buy me stuff for my birthday.

Vote and you may stand a chance to win Sakae Sushi vouchers.

Speaking of Sakae Sushi, i didn't know it's motto was "Good Place Very Good Sushi". Abit salah sounding la the English.

Anyway, i'm B1! Vote for me!

=)

i Am @ Youth.SG : what juni wants

This year ain't the year of the pig...

It's the year of the birthday parties!!!

Especially for the 1986 batch, because EVERYONE'S TURNING 21!

Like duh.

At first, i didn't want to have a celebration for myself. I intended to just let my birthday slip by like the previous years, with only some friends asking me out.

But after being invited to so many parties, i gian already la!

With great parties come great responsibility.

I'm frazzled enough as it is, but i still have to manage the guestlist, cater food, order cake, buy extra sides.

All of which i've not done.

I've done one thing thou.

I've created an improbable wishlist for fear of people buying me stuffed toys. Although some of the items there are like impossibles, a boy can dream.

Ok, without further ado, it's 不要脸 (thick skinned) time.

I doubt the Abercrombie polos can be found in Singapore (i don't want cheong ones!), you can try buying them online thou! Oh, i'll accept Ralph Lauren polos too! NO GIORDANO OR NO FOOD FOR YOU!

If you wanna get Topman tees or shirts, i wear M hor. I know i'm fat, dun need to make me look fatter by buying me baggy clothes. And try to abstain from white/light colours cos it's fattening!

What's most important is to surprise me! But after this entry, i think it's hard for me to get surprised.

Aiyah, if i think of anything else i'll edit this entry and repost it! Kinda braindead from all that photoshopping.

If you're not sure how to get any items from the list, ask me ask me!

Now everyone chant with me,

NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!
NO STUFFED TOYS, NO ORNAMENTS, NO CRAPPY CLOTHES!

If anyone gets me crappy stuff i'll throw a tantrum and sit on the floor!

Not like i haven't done it before.

But nothing beats my brother.

Remember people, there's a fine line to being poor and being cheap. Careful which side you tread on.

HAHA!

Oh man i'm coming off as such an ass. I'm really very nice in real life one...

p/s, i've tagged this entry with 'friendship' because you guys are such great friends! i wuv chew!

According to the management of the competition, B1, 2, 4, 5 and 9 are holding the top positions, in no order of merit.

I'm B5!

W00ts!~!~!

Voting closes at 2359hrs on 15th of March, so go VOTE if you haven't done so!

In other news, there's so many things for me to think about.

I've changed driving instructors and i hope with this new one i can pass by my original test date. Which means i have to pia every week twice, 2 hours each. Stress on me and my bank account.

I need to plan for my birthday, which means booking the function room, booking the caterer and booking my friends. Stress on me and my bank account yet again.

I'm still jobless. I've called and emailed many schools to no avail. And i just registered myself with recruit express (xh, aka joel, is working there). Stress!

Travelling is a pain in the ass. I went for my driving lesson, then home, then orchard then home again and that cost me nearly $10 in MRT rides. STRESS!

I regretted accepting the tuition job because my maths is really terrible. I actually tried to do a P6 maths SA1 paper and i ended up making alot of mistakes. But i need the money la. STRESS!

I really wanna blog about my camp and also round 6 of the blogging comp but i've not been feeling very up to it recently.

But entries to round 6 closes on the 23rd so i guess i better buck up by then.

I Am @ Youth.SG

334972257_7cc67a5b88_o

I am @ Youth.SG because i want to win the 30GB Apple iPod and the grand prize of an Apple MacBook.

Hey, at least i'm honest ok! I don't give bullshit about wanting to entertain you with my writing. I mean, if on the way, people get a kick out of reading, then all the better right?

Don't you think that us youths are getting more and more detached from the world around us? I blame it on the fact that wherever i go, the signature white iPod earphones would be surgically attached to my ears.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining or anything because I AM THE iPOD GENERATION-tion-tion-tion-tion.....

It's more than just music, it's a lifestyle baby...

I am @ Youth.SG because i am a connected, higly motivated and gregarious youth who is aware of himself and others.

And i chronicle everything, big or small, on the various blogs that i've had.

I blogged about Tammy, joined Singapore Idol, shop at Ikea and love Ben & Jerry's.

Although many factors define me as a youth in SG, i've boiled it down to the 3 most important, namely food, self-image and air-con. These might not seem to have any links to Youth.SG, but if you read on, i'm sure you'll be convinced that they are in fact, the most important of all!

My number 1 motto in life, other than "Don't Worry, Be Happy", is "Live to Eat, not Eat to Live". I love my mee poks, char kway teows and tau huays so much that it's kinda been my downfall to the road of weight loss.

In fact, i love my food so much that i've actually created a food blog to introduce some of the yummilicious food that i had. My kiasu friends actually took down the places i've introduced and went to try them as well! Being a foodie and a blogger has made me marry the two of them together to form a beautiful union online.

Being a youth in Singapore, the pressure to look good is constantly around us.

Be it weight loss,

or teeth whitening,

the emphasis on the superficiality of humans are splashed across mediums like TV, newspapers and magazines, shaping the mindset of beauty in us impressionable youths.

And being youths, how can we afford such exorbitant products? I mean, we don't even have enough money to buy our own clothes from Topman, Zara, or FCUK already, where got spare cash to spend on these things?

We can only go to Carrefour to make a fool out of ourselves playing on OSIM's newest products (have you heard that there's a new foot reflexology thingy called iPoke? They have the most hilarious names possible. I mean, uPapa?!?).

Alternatively, we can use the universal tool of, just simply, praying.

And it's free!

I've spotted the rise in such advertisements and as you can see, i love parodying them to death on my blog.

And how can i be @ Youth.SG if not for air-con?

Being the pampered and sheltered youth that i am, no air-con how to survive? Especially in sunny Singapore, where it's hot and humid 24/7 everyday, 365 days a year.

I mean, of cos i can survive without air-con. I'm not as pampered as my brother.

This is what you get if you ask him to do more 听写 (chinese spelling).

He beats me hands down.

I don't hope to beat anyone hands down with this hastily done up, last minute blog entry (i just found out about this competition this morning), but i hope i at least have a chance at a prize ya?

I just have a feverish love for blogging and making people laugh, and i hope it translates because...

I AM @ YOUTH.SG!!!

Listening

I don't want you to think of me as an eavesdropper so I'll just say that I'm listening to music instead of my neighbour's maid flirting with my other neighbour's driver.

Reading

I like it when people think of me as an intellectual so I will list a bunch of intellectual-sounding books here, even those I don't plan to read.

Viewing

Since I can't list my porn collection here, I'll just leave it this way until I can force myself to watch non-pornographic stuff, which may or may not happen.
