I Am @ Youth.SG
I am @ Youth.SG because i want to win the 30GB Apple iPod and the grand prize of an Apple MacBook.
Hey, at least i'm honest ok! I don't give bullshit about wanting to entertain you with my writing. I mean, if on the way, people get a kick out of reading, then all the better right?
Don't you think that us youths are getting more and more detached from the world around us? I blame it on the fact that wherever i go, the signature white iPod earphones would be surgically attached to my ears.
Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining or anything because I AM THE iPOD GENERATION-tion-tion-tion-tion.....
It's more than just music, it's a lifestyle baby...
I am @ Youth.SG because i am a connected, higly motivated and gregarious youth who is aware of himself and others.
And i chronicle everything, big or small, on the various blogs that i've had.
I blogged about Tammy, joined Singapore Idol, shop at Ikea and love Ben & Jerry's.
Although many factors define me as a youth in SG, i've boiled it down to the 3 most important, namely food, self-image and air-con. These might not seem to have any links to Youth.SG, but if you read on, i'm sure you'll be convinced that they are in fact, the most important of all!
My number 1 motto in life, other than "Don't Worry, Be Happy", is "Live to Eat, not Eat to Live". I love my mee poks, char kway teows and tau huays so much that it's kinda been my downfall to the road of weight loss.
In fact, i love my food so much that i've actually created a food blog to introduce some of the yummilicious food that i had. My kiasu friends actually took down the places i've introduced and went to try them as well! Being a foodie and a blogger has made me marry the two of them together to form a beautiful union online.
Being a youth in Singapore, the pressure to look good is constantly around us.
Be it weight loss,
or teeth whitening,
the emphasis on the superficiality of humans are splashed across mediums like TV, newspapers and magazines, shaping the mindset of beauty in us impressionable youths.
And being youths, how can we afford such exorbitant products? I mean, we don't even have enough money to buy our own clothes from Topman, Zara, or FCUK already, where got spare cash to spend on these things?
