cash and carry

I just bought my very own Apple today at the NUS Matric Fair!

It was $2630.05 and i paid cash in the exact amount, down to the 5 cents!

Anyway, I'm feeling kinda screwed now cos there's so much i dunno how to do on the mac! Someone save me!

Yea, and to just let everyone out there know, things are fine between me and my dad already. We had out "man-to-man" talk and it was a-ok!

More updates another day!

I wanna sell the orange iPod Shuffle that came with the purchase! Any takers?

hilarious sex advice

My friend was browsing through a sex column online and pasted this in MSN for me.

Dear Alvin,

I recently began to date a really cool chick. We have yet to have sex but I’ve fingered her in dark cinemas and in my car a couple of times. Unfortunately, after every “exploration,” my fingers smell damn terrible. I really like this chick but the smell is a great turn off. How can I break the news to her without embarrassing her or running the risk of her dumping me?

-Put Off

Dear Put Off,

Don’t get your knickers into a twist – why, the answer to your problem couldn’t be simpler! After giving your chick the finger(s), you may wish to “accidentally” run those fingers under her nose or if you’re really really sadistic, ask her to do a Kentucky Fried Chicken and lick your fingers. The wonders of manipulated “self”-realisation should never be underestimated in a situation like this.

-Alvin

something to laugh about

Quoted from Pink Is The New Blog,

"Beyonce, while whipping her weave all around as she performed her song Ring the Alarm, succumbed to her own fierceness in concert last night when she took a nose dive down some stairs on stage in Orlando, FL."

I dunno if this will still be here tmr, cos Beyonce might ask for youtube to remove it, so faster watch!

Leviticus 20:13

"V'ish asher yishkav et zachar mishk'vei ishah to'evah asu shneihem mot yumatu d'meihem bam."

"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

I chanced upon this verse from the Old Testament from someone's blog. Nothing much, just wanted to put it here for reference purposes.

Updates on my family saga:

I tried to approach my dad, this time when he just started on his cig.

He looked at me warily as i approached...

"You're moving out tomorrow right?"

-stunned-

"Papa, i know i'm at fault..."

"You're not the only one at fault, we're at fault too. But i'm tired now, we talk on Friday after dinner. Let's have a man-to-man chat downstairs."

-stunned-

It didn't go as how i had rehearsed it in my mind. Postponed! Fuck!

And before you guys start relaxing in your chairs, this is not a good thing.

looked at me, walked away

Well, i got around to talking to my mom. I surprised myself by shedding some tears too. But the crux of the conversation was that i had to get through to my dad, because, even my mom has to turn to him. She actually gives him ALL her pay and gets a fixed allowance every month.

Talk about conservative values.

I tried initiating a talk. Trust me, i tried.

I waited till he was done with his routine nightly smokes in the kitchen, then as he was returning to his room, i stood in front of him and called, "Papa".

He looked at me as though i had poked him in the eye, turned, and walked straight to his room.

I stood there, waiting. Hoping that he would come to the doorway.

He didn't.

not better i'm afraid

The look of contempt that my dad gave to me when i bumped into him while going back home from tuition today can only be described as: "When Draco Malfoy stares at Harry Potter".

It's damn bad, the situation at home now. I do my best to avoid my dad, but when we do cross paths (which is alot, considering condos, like doll-houses, are small), that's the face i get.

Doesn't help that i'm currently suffering from Elephantitis.

My sad right leg's been sprained from a wild and drunken night at MOS.

I even got photographed by someone from mumtazz.com, which is like some website on the clubbing scene.

There were like 7 jugs of assorted vodka that night.

Now you know why i fell and sprained my ankle.

When i explained to my student why i was limping, he took one look at my foot and went, "Eyer".

Sad little life i have.

can life get any bitterer

I thought i was good to go. I was more or less done with my uni stuff, i've quit my job and am concentrating on my tuitions.

Then because of a mistake i made, because of my nature, because i defied my dad, he gave me 3 days to move out of the house. He told me to cancel all the forms that i filled in to apply to pay my uni bills through his CPF. He told me he's not gonna support me and asked me to find myself a place to stay, out of his house.

Basically he's disowning me.

Brian Loube's Gallery of 3D Photography

I was jumping around photography sites when i stumbled onto this site.

It's quite cool cuz unlike conventional galleries, this one's in 3D.

As it's said in the site,

"This site can be viewed with any standard red/blue 3D glasses.
(red lens - left eye blue lens - right eye)"

Unfortch, i don't own a pair of those, not even the cheap flimsy paper kind, so i can't view the images popping out of the screen, but it's cool nonetheless.

Here are some images from the site.

There are more images on the site, but you get the idea.

Another cool site (the main one where i link other cool sites from actually) is Photojojo, where i get all my cool photo ideas from.

Remember the panography photo of the view outside my window? Or the idea to take photos with an empty photo frame?

All from that site, plus much much more! Who knows, you might find something that works for you there!

I'm so doing free advertising again.

pre-school jitters

School's starting next month and already i'm feeling all apprehensive about it.

What with 2 years of stagnation, almost zero brain usage and being in a non social situation, going into uni seems quite a daunting task.

It doesn't help that before going in, i have to already meet deadlines and fill in forms, in terms of tuition grants, EZ-Link card applications, etc.

It's all too much to handle! I'm used to sitting back and waiting to be told what to do! Now that i have to go read up and find out myself, i find myself sorely behind.

I'm getting stressed out for no apparent reason basically.

Anyway, i've quit my job cos basically the opportunity costs aren't in my favour.

And i've sold out as well. As you guys can see, i've joined the Nuffnang community, which basically is like an advertising agency who uses blogs as their advertising mediums. They match their clients to bloggers who garner readership that are of the intended demographic, so that their ads will be shown on those blogs.

Well, you'll see adverts coming soon on this site cos this blog's been matched to one of their clients. Can't say much but it's quite cool. Hope i earn some, especially since i'm jobless now.

This is so random.

Edit: Why did i use "basically" so much.

NDP Rehearsal

I've missed updating this space!

I'm at both a low and a high point in my life right now. Abit lazy to explain in detail so you'll just have to take it.

Anyway, cos it's getting late (i know it's 11.30pm, i have no life ok?) and i need to KO soon, i shall just dump in the photos that i was editing for the past hour.

It was quite a boring spectacular show but, me being me, i couldn't appreciate it. It was the killer combination of the heat and the boredom of listening to retarded commentary that did it for me.

Since it was a rehearsal, everything was kinda faked. The word "simulated" was peppered into the commentary. Like "Now, the president will inspect the contingent. Simulated." They even got a fake president to wave to people from the car!

The night was quite a letdown because there wasn't any fireworks in the end! Not even a sputter! There was supposed to be 10% of the actual amount of fireworks, but apparently, the week before, some bigshot went down for the rehearsal so they used up 20%, including the 10% that was supposed to be for this week.

Smelly poks!

Went to Raffles City after that and i saw this.

At first when i saw it i did a double take! Why the ass so exposed one?!

Then i realised it was just the chair.

Ok, i shall stop here. More updates another day!

Listening

I don't want you to think of me as an eavesdropper so I'll just say that I'm listening to music instead of my neighbour's maid flirting with my other neighbour's driver.

Reading

I like it when people think of me as an intellectual so I will list a bunch of intellectual-sounding books here, even those I don't plan to read.

Viewing

Since I can't list my porn collection here, I'll just leave it this way until I can force myself to watch non-pornographic stuff, which may or may not happen.
